All women in Scotland aged 25 to 49 are offered cervical screening (or a smear test) every 3 years. The test is designed to pick up any changes to the cells in your cervix so that they can be monitored or treated. Without treatment the changes can sometimes develop into cervical cancer. In most cases it is not recommended that a woman has a cervical screening test during pregnancy. This double sided A5 flyer explains the process if your cervical screening test falls during your pregnancy.
